There is no conclusive evidence to show that Bhikaji was a child to Jeejeebhoy > Ramji Mehta, though the date of his father's death matches. However, since his father's name is recorded as Jiji, it could be that he was Dorabji » Ramji Mehta's son also.

It is also possible that he was the one to change the family name to Pochi, making it difficult to conclusively prove which branch he came from. This family came to live in the Kutri Khao Tekro.
